My band “Two Worlds” appears at the Berkshire Jazz Showcase at the Zion Lutheran Church, 74 First Street, Pittsfield. We’ll be playing a potent mix of Jazz and Klezmer music. The event showcases the top jazz bands throughout all of the Berkshires, and it is an honor to be invited to perform on it.

Paul Green and Wanda Houston perform at Mr. Finn’s Cabaret at the Barrington Stage, Pittsfield, in a benefit concert for “Youth Alive,” an organization dedicated to helping the inner city community in Pittsfield, directed by Shirley Edgerton. We’ll be playing jazz, blues, gospel and klezmer! We’re joined by piano virtuoso Rob Kelly.

I’m performing with the Berkshire Symphony Orchestra at Chapin Hall at Williams College, Williamstown. The program includes Brahms great Symphony No. 2. Ronald Feldman conducts the Orchestra.

Berkshire Jazz Showcase

Berkshires Jazz brings five of the most popular regional bands to Pittsfield Common for the second annual Berkshire Jazz Showcase. The wide-ranging lineup for the jazz extravaganza will include Paul Green and Two Worlds, Gina Coleman and Misty Blues, Andy Wrba’s Berkshire Jazz Collective, First Take with Mary Ann Palermo, and the Kyle Murray Quintet. A free event, the Showcase will also include food vendors, as well as a beer and wine garden. The event will be held on the field adjacent to the First Street Common’s playground and “splash park.” Prelude music will be provided by Andy Kelly’s Jazz Ambassadors from 10am until noon at The Pittsfield Farmer’s Market. Audiences are advised to bring blankets or chairs, sunscreen/umbrellas.

Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde

Richard Wagner’s opera Tristan und Isolde was written in the 1850’s and reflects a period of great turbulence in Wagner’s personal life, involving his affair with Mathilde von Wessendonck. The love triangle that Wagner was personally involved in at that time mirrors to some extent the love story of “Tristan.” The opera is considered to be one of the most transcendent expressions of love and death ever written. TUNDI Productions, which is producing the opera at the Latchis Theater in Brattleboro, Vermont, is “dedicated to performing music that summons the deepest emotions and the most burning issues of being human so people can experience transcendence, interact with the music and the artists, and engage in their own creativity,

A program of Russian and Russia-inspired American music as well as purely American works featuring Daniel Godfrey’s evocative “From a Dream of Russia.” The composer will be in attendance.
 Musicians of Ma’alwyck is a flexible-size chamber ensemble in residence at the Schuyler Mansion New York State Historic Site and Schenectady County Community College. In 2002, Musicians of Ma’alwyck performed by invitation for television producer Norman Lear in celebration of his purchase of the last private copy of the Declaration of Independence. Musicians of Ma’alwyck has been presented on National Public Radio, WMHT-FM and WMHT-TV. In 2009 the ensemble produced the 1783 opera The Poor Soldier by William Shield, drawing national attention. Musicians of Ma’alwyck was named the best chamber music ensemble of the Capital Region for both 2008 and 2009 by Metroland. In 2009 the ensemble made its television documentary debut performing in a film entitled Greene County USA.
